Classes will be taught at the Kaysville Recreation Center(corner of 100 N. 100 E. Kaysville).  You will need to bring a pencil.  If  you attend all the classes and complete all of the at home requirements, you will get your card at the end of the session.  For more information please e-mail me at lebarons@comcast.net

Citzenship in the Nation:  Write a letter to a Senator or Representative.  Give him your opinion on current issues.

Citizenship in the World:
Choose one of the options:
*Go to the State Dept. Website and find out about an issue you are interested in.
*Attend a World Scout Jamboree.
*Visit a foreign website and find out about a human right we enjoy in our country but they don't have in theirs.
*Attend an international event. (Ethnic Festival, concert or play.)

Communications: 
1.Attend a public meeting.
2.Give a speech. (church talks count!)
3.Choose one of the options:
*Write to a company or newspaper/magazine requesting or sharing information.
*Create a web page.
*On the computer create a flier or other printed material for your scout troop, school or other group.
4.Conduct a court of honor, campfire or similar.

Citizenship in the Community:
8 hours of service to your community
Create a presentation(poster, power point, photo story etc.) about your community and present it in class. 2min. time limit!
Attend a City Counsel Meeting, School Board Meeting or City Court Session.
Emergency Preparedness:
Earn the First Aid Merit Badge.  (this can be done after or during this merit badge, but it has to be done to get the merit badge.)
Bring in a personal emergency kit. (flashlight, snack, first aid kit, rope, map, fire starting kit are required items, you may add anything else you would like.)
Make a list of the items in your family emergency kit.
